A Taser is a brand of electroshock weapon sold by Axon. The shooting stun guns fire two small dart-like electrodes, which stay connected to the main unit by conductors, to deliver electric current to disrupt voluntary control of muscles, causing "neuromuscular incapacitation". Someone struck by a Taser may experience pain and over-stimulation of sensory nerves and motor nerves, resulting in strong involuntary long muscle contractions. The force applied is therefore proportional to the strength of the person receiving the shock rather than the strength of the police officer.
