Gautama Buddha (c. 563/480 c. 483/400 BCE), also known as Siddhrtha Gautama, Shakyamuni Buddha, or simply the Buddha, after the title of Buddha, was an ascetic (ramaa) and sage, on whose teachings Buddhism was founded.
